The original Traffic had two phases. The first, a winsomely psychedelic pop band that blending blues, folk, rock, and R&B, fronted by Steve Winwood  - best-known for his lead vocals with the Spencer Davis Group - and Dave Mason. After Mason, the band became Winwood's vehicle for longer, moodier excursions that leaning into to jazz and soul. Traffic was exceedingly popular in both incarnations.

With such hits as Paper Sun, Dear Mr Fantasy, Feelin' Alright, Pearly Queen among many others, they left a lasting legacy of music.

In 1970, while Winwood was recording his first solo album, "Mad Shadows", Capaldi and Wood sat in on some sessions. That LP became Traffic's fifth and most commercially successful album, "John Barleycorn Must Die", a gold album and a staple of "progressive" FM radio.  This was followed by another gold album, "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys" in 1971.

Danny Louis:

Danny Louis was born in a small Catskill Mountain town, not far from the global music epicenter of Woodstock, N.Y. According to his mom an accomplished opera singer, and his next door neighbor, who was just trying to sleep, Danny was beating on tables, singing complete songs, and banging on pianos even before he could walk. His musical calling, passion for the arts and love of live performing took him far beyond those early performances. Louis has carved a career as one of rock music’s premier keyboard, piano and horn players. And he has shared his talents with audiences across the country and around the world, while performing on stage with such rock and roll luminaries as The Kinks, Gregg Allman, Joe Cocker, Levon Helm, Phil Lesh and Eric Clapton.

Joey Eppard:

Joey Eppard is a true musical triple threat. An accomplished vocalist, a brilliant songwriter and an innovative master of his own finger style approach to guitar playing. He is the driving force behind the Hudson Valley based rock band, “3,” as well as a renowned solo performer, often leaving his audiences shocked that so much sound can emanate from a single human being. During his career, he has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, garnering a reputation for intense and passionate live performances that often leave his guitar with nary a string.

Joey has toured and performed with the likes of Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Coheed and Cambria, Opeth, Atreyu, Within Temptation, Between the Buried and Me, Cynic, Scorpions, Heart, George Clinton & P-Funk, Little Feat, Aztec Two-Step, Todd Rungren, Orleans and many more! Joey is also a member of the band DRUGS with members of P-Funk, and an original member of Travis Stever’s Fire Duece. In recent times Joey has been singing lead in a Steely Dan tribute with the legendary Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel etc) and many other fine musicians. Joey also does a number of other tribute projects (Beatles, Traffic) with the grammy winning producer and engineer Scott Petito.

Joel Harrison:

Guitarist, composer, arranger, lyricist, writer, educator, and vocalist Joel Harrison has “created a new blueprint for jazz” (New Orleans Times-Picayune). A Guggenheim Fellow (2010) whose compositions have been commissioned by Chamber Music America, Meet the Composer, New Music USA, the Jerome Foundation, NYSCA, and the Mary Flagler Cary Trust, Harrison is a two-time winner of the Jazz Composers Alliance Composition Competition and has appeared repeatedly on DownBeat Magazine’s “Rising Star” poll.

Bill Harris:

Bill Harris has been an integral part of the New York City area music scene for over 40 years. He has performed in the clubs, theaters and recording studios of the tri-state area as well as throughout the US, Europe and Japan. Bill is a renowned performer in any and all styles on all of the saxophones, clarinets and flutes. His debut CD “The Extra Mile” was released to rave reviews from critics and musicians alike.

Scott Petito:

Scott Petito is an award winning composer, producer and engineer. He is a gifted bassist and multi-instrumentalist who has performed on hundreds of recordings in many musical styles.

Scott has become particularly well known for his work in the folk and jazz genres, working with such musicians as; James Taylor, Pete Seeger, The Band, Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland, Michael Franks, John Scofield, Dave Brubeck and many more.

Randy Ciarlante:

When the Band was offered a record deal by CBS Records in 1990, Levon Helm recruited drummer/vocalist Randy Ciarlante into the Band. He stayed with the group since then, often singing Richard Manuel's parts in the older Band songs, playing bass, and doubling with Levon on drums at their live performances. Ciarlante can be heard on the Band albums from the '90s, Jericho, High on the Hog, and Jubilation.
