Alexis P. Suter Band
"She is one of those wonderful spirits, she's got her arms around you; you can feel that." - Levon Helm
Alexis P. Suter is the owner of that big, booming voice you can hear roaring out of Brooklyn into the heart of North America and beyond. Miss Suter and her powerful and unique ensemble artfully blend the lines between Blues, Soul, Roots and Rock music. Alexis' voice ranges from a pained passion to explosive and soul bearing.
Three-time Blues Music Award nominee, Suter was raised in Brooklyn, NY by a musically gifted family, and infused with the passion and the belief that music is an emotional and spiritual experience. On the gospel tune “I Just Got Off That Devil’s Train” - a duet on their most recent CD, "Be Love", Alexis joins with her 96 year old mother, gospel singer, Carrie Suter.
Miss Suter brings love and energy in abundance to each of her performances. Audiences may dance and sing along to rollicking roots songs or funky blues numbers, and later are wiping tears, stirred by an awe-inspiring version of "Let it Be", one of many songs that touch deeply. Alexis and her band are not just another musical act, but an energetic, emotional experience that fans return to time after time.
The core band, fellow Brooklyn natives Raymond Grappone (drummer) and Vicki Bell, (vocals and percussion) have been making music together for nearly twenty years. Grappone and Bell own and operate the Hipbone Records label. Accomplished musician and fellow Brooklyn native, Michael Louis joins the band as lead guitarist. This was the magical combination of talents needed to open musical doors and lift the band to new levels.
